FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the importance of ensuring the safety and happiness of visitors from around the world during the World Cup. The tournament will mark the first time matches are split between multiple countries, with the final scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
In a show of support for soccer’s growth in the U.S., Trump and Infantino showcased the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup trophy at a White House event. Infantino likened the World Cup to hosting three Super Bowls daily for a month, underscoring the significant logistical and security challenges involved.
Looking ahead, the Trump administration will face another global sports event in 2028 as the summer Olympics are scheduled to be held in California, marking the return of the Games to the U.S. since 2002.
