Vietnam has given the green light to a $1.5 billion proposal by the Trump Organization and its local partner to develop golf courses, hotels, and real estate ventures in the country. The ambitious project, covering 990 hectares in northern Vietnam’s Khoai Chau district, will feature a vast golf course equivalent to 336 American football fields, along with residential, commercial, and recreational areas. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed off on the investment, as reported by VN Express. This move comes as Vietnam aims to enter talks with the U.S. to evade the 46% tariffs imposed on its exports by the Trump administration and address concerns regarding the transit of Chinese goods through its borders.
The joint venture was announced by Vietnamese real estate firm Kinhbac City, which joined forces with the Trump Organization last October. Construction is set to commence this year and is scheduled for completion by 2029. Despite this significant development, the Trump Organization has yet to provide a statement in response to the approval. This collaboration marks a notable step in Vietnam’s economic landscape and signals a strategic move to enhance its international trade relationships amidst global trade challenges.
