A recent CNN poll conducted by SSRS reveals that a majority of Americans are doubtful about President Donald Trump’s approach to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The poll indicates that most Americans hold negative views of Trump’s handling of the situation, with 50% believing that his approach is detrimental to the United States. In contrast to the Biden administration’s support for Ukraine, Trump has been critical of Ukraine and its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, leading to concerns from both European allies and domestic critics.

Furthermore, the poll highlights that a significant portion of Americans are skeptical about the potential for long-term peace resulting from Trump’s approach, with 59% expressing doubt. The survey also reveals widespread disapproval of Trump’s management of the US relationship with Russia, as well as his handling of the Ukrainian conflict.

Partisan divide is evident in the poll results, with a notable share of Republicans expressing reservations about Trump’s foreign policy decisions. Democrats, on the other hand, exhibit more unified negative views of Trump’s foreign policy choices. Additionally, the poll shows shifting American sentiments towards Ukraine, Russia, and other nations, indicating evolving perceptions of international relations and alliances.

The survey conducted by SSRS from March 6-9 among 1,206 US adults underscores the complex and varied perspectives among Americans regarding Trump’s foreign policy approach and its implications on global affairs.
