Harris, considering a run to succeed Newsom, has until the end of summer to finalize her decision, according to sources close to her. California Republicans reportedly welcome a Harris candidacy, believing it could elevate the race to a national level and boost fundraising efforts in the predominantly Democratic state. Grenell, a former ambassador and acting director of national intelligence, has been actively involved in diplomatic missions, including securing the release of detained Americans in Venezuela.
