The Army is gearing up for a grand parade on June 14 to celebrate its 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. The elaborate event will feature nearly 7,000 troops and armored vehicles rolling past a reviewing stand near the White House. The parade will showcase various milestones in the Army’s history, from Revolutionary War soldiers to modern-day Army Rangers and Stryker armored vehicles, honoring the Global War on Terror.
The procession will kick off with top Army officials reporting to President Trump, followed by the display of the nation’s flag and the Army flag by the Honor Guard. Unlike previous controversial events, this parade seems to have full support from the Army, with the concept reportedly pushed by the White House. The finale will see the Army’s Golden Knights parachute team landing to present a flag to the President, who will then oversee a ceremony for enlisting and re-enlisting soldiers.
With plans for over 6,600 soldiers, 50 aircraft, seven bands, and a variety of vehicles including tanks, the parade promises to be a spectacular four-hour event culminating in a fireworks display. This celebratory showcase of the Army’s history and capabilities is set to be a memorable tribute to both the institution’s legacy and President Trump’s birthday.
